This Cookie Policy explains how Mėlyna Aqua, UAB (“we”, “us”, “our”) uses cookies on the website melyna-aqua.com and its subdomains, including our online shop at shop.melyna-aqua.com (together, the “Website”).
1. What are cookies?
Cookies are small text files that a website stores on your device (computer, smartphone or tablet) when you visit it. They allow the website to function properly, to remember your choices and, where you agree to it, to collect information about how the website is used and to show you relevant advertising. Cookies set by us are called first-party cookies. Cookies set by other companies whose services we use on the Website (Google and Meta) are called third-party cookies. In this Cookie Policy, references to cookies also cover similar technologies, such as tags, pixels and scripts, that store or read information on your device.
2. Cookies we use
We use necessary cookies, which are required for the proper functioning of the Website, and, subject to your prior consent given through our cookie consent banner, analytics cookies and marketing cookies. All cookies we use are listed below by category. You may accept or reject analytics and marketing cookies separately, and change your choice at any time, via the cookie consent banner available on the Website.

Analytics cookies help us understand how visitors use the Website. Some of them are set by the Sourcebuster script that forms part of the WooCommerce platform on which our online shop runs: they record the source of your visit (for example, the referring website, search engine or campaign link through which you reached the Website), the page on which your visit started and basic information about your visit, so that, if you place an order, we can see which channel led to it. Others are set by Google Analytics 4, a service of Google Ireland Limited, which collects statistical information about the use of the Website (pages viewed, time on page, navigation paths, approximate location derived from a truncated IP address, device and browser type). We use the resulting statistics in aggregated form. Google Analytics tags are loaded through Google Tag Manager, which does not itself set cookies and fires analytics and marketing tags only after you have given the corresponding consent.
Marketing cookies
| Cookie name | Type / Category | Purpose | Storage duration |
|---|---|---|---|
| _gcl_au | Marketing / Google Ads | Set by Google Ads (Google Tag Manager conversion linker). Stores information about the advertisement through which you reached the Website so that conversions can be attributed to the campaign. | 3 months |

| _fbc | Marketing / Meta Pixel | Set by Meta Pixel when you reach the Website by clicking an advertisement on a Meta platform. Stores the click identifier used to attribute conversions to the advertisement. | 3 months |
Marketing cookies are set by the advertising services of Google (Google Ads) and Meta (Meta Pixel, used for advertising on Facebook and Instagram) through tags placed on the Website. They are used to measure whether visitors who have seen our advertisements visit the Website or place an order (conversion measurement), to show our advertisements to you and to persons with similar interests on Google and Meta platforms, and to limit how often you see the same advertisement. Where you are logged in to your Google or Meta account, these providers may link the information to your account. In respect of the data collected through the Meta Pixel and transmitted to Meta, we and Meta Platforms Ireland Limited act as joint controllers.
Embedded third-party content
| Cookie name | Type / Category | Purpose | Storage duration |
|---|---|---|---|
| YSC | Marketing / YouTube | Set by YouTube when you play an embedded video. Stores a unique identifier of your viewing session and registers which videos you have viewed. | Session |
| VISITOR_INFO1_LIVE | Marketing / YouTube | Set by YouTube when you play an embedded video. Stores your video player preferences and measures bandwidth to select the appropriate video quality. | 6 months |
The Website may contain videos hosted on YouTube (a service of Google) and may load fonts from the Google Fonts service. YouTube videos are embedded in privacy-enhanced mode and load only when you play them: when you do so, YouTube may set its own cookies (for example, to store your video settings and to measure playback) and collect information about your viewing. Google Fonts does not set cookies, but loading the fonts transmits your IP address and browser information to Google. Such cookies and transmissions are governed by Google’s privacy policy and, where they require consent, are activated only after you have accepted marketing cookies in the cookie consent banner. The cookies set by YouTube are listed below.
3. Legal basis, consent and third-party providers
Necessary cookies are strictly necessary for the operation of the Website. Under Article 5(3) of Directive 2002/58/EC (Directive on privacy and electronic communications), as implemented in the Law on Electronic Communications of the Republic of Lithuania, such cookies do not require your consent, as they are essential to provide the service you have requested. Insofar as personal data are processed through them, we rely on our legitimate interest in operating the Website correctly and securely (Article 6(1)(f) of Regulation (EU) 2016/679 (GDPR)).
Analytics and marketing cookies are placed on your device only after you have given your prior, freely given, specific, informed and unambiguous consent through our cookie consent banner. Insofar as personal data are processed through them, the legal basis is your consent (Article 6(1)(a) of the GDPR). No analytics or marketing cookie is set before you have made your choice, and the Website works in the same way whether you accept or reject them. You may withdraw your consent at any time, with effect for the future, by re-opening the cookie consent banner on the Website and changing your preferences. Withdrawal of consent does not affect the lawfulness of processing carried out on the basis of consent before its withdrawal.
Necessary cookies and the Sourcebuster cookies are set by our own domain. Analytics and marketing cookies are set by the following third-party providers, which process the information collected for the purposes described above and under their own privacy policies: Google Ireland Limited (Gordon House, Barrow Street, Dublin 4, Ireland) for Google Tag Manager, Google Analytics 4, Google Ads, YouTube and Google Fonts, and Meta Platforms Ireland Limited (Merrion Road, Dublin 4, Ireland) for Meta Pixel. Google Ireland Limited acts as our processor in respect of Google Analytics and as an independent controller in respect of Google Ads, YouTube and Google Fonts. Meta Platforms Ireland Limited acts as joint controller with us in respect of the collection and transmission of data through the Meta Pixel and as an independent controller for its further processing. Information on how we process personal data, including data collected through analytics and marketing cookies, on how long we keep such data and on your rights (including the rights of access, rectification, erasure, restriction of processing and objection, and the right to lodge a complaint with the State Data Protection Inspectorate of the Republic of Lithuania (Valstybinė duomenų apsaugos inspekcija, vdai.lrv.lt)), is set out in our Privacy Policy link.
Information collected through these cookies may be transferred to, and processed on servers located in, the United States of America by Google LLC and Meta Platforms, Inc., the parent companies of the above providers. Such transfers take place on the basis of the EU-US Data Privacy Framework (Commission Implementing Decision (EU) 2023/1795), under which Google LLC and Meta Platforms, Inc. are certified, and, where that framework does not apply, on the basis of the Standard Contractual Clauses adopted by Commission Implementing Decision (EU) 2021/914, supplemented by additional measures where necessary. You may obtain further information on these transfers and copies of the relevant safeguards by contacting us using the details in Section 7 of this Cookie Policy.
4. How to control cookies
You can accept or reject analytics and marketing cookies separately, and change your choice at any time, through the cookie consent banner on the Website. You can also manage or delete cookies through your browser settings: most browsers allow you to see which cookies are stored, delete them individually or altogether, and block cookies from particular or all websites. Please note that blocking or deleting necessary cookies may prevent parts of the Website, including the online shop, from functioning correctly. You may additionally opt out of Google Analytics by installing the browser add-on provided by Google, and manage the advertisements shown to you in the advertising settings of your Google and Meta accounts.
5. Updates to this Cookie Policy
We may update this Cookie Policy from time to time, for example, if the cookies we use change. Any updates will be published on this page with a revised “Last updated” date. If we start using cookies that require your consent for new purposes, we will ask for your consent again through the cookie consent banner.
6. Access to this Cookie Policy and the cookie consent banner
This Cookie Policy is accessible directly from the cookie consent banner that is displayed on your first visit to the Website and from the footer of the Website. You may re-open the cookie consent banner at any time to review and change your cookie preferences.
